Completed Boulevard of the Allies Bridge

The Boulevard of the Allies Bridge Project was completed in May 2009. All associated roadways and access ramps are now open!

The Boulevard of the Allies is one of the main roadway entrances from Downtown into Oakland. Oakland is the region’s premier medical, educational and cultural center as well as a vibrant city neighborhood that is not only a destination; but also serves as a through corridor between downtown and the eastern neighborhoods and suburbs.

The Boulevard of the Allies' Bridges are being redesigned as a "Gateway" with unique bridge features, architectural treatments such as concrete color, wall textures, pilasters and beautiful landscaping, and enhanced pedestrian amenities.

The Boulevard of the Allies Bridge Project is complete!

Update – Tuesday, June 30, 2009: The Boulevard of the Allies Bridge Replacement Project has been nominated for a national award through AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials). We are provided with the opportunity to cast our vote for this critical 'Gateway to Oakland' as part of a separate People's Choice Award to the project receiving the highest number of votes from the general public.
