Boulevard of the Allies over Forbes Avenue Bridge Replacement

Since the last public meeting on December 1, 2005, the project was bid and awarded to Joseph B. Fay Company of Pittsburgh. The Notice-to- Proceed was issued on March 19, 2007, with the beginning of construction scheduled to start on April 2, 2007.

Construction will officially begin with the setting of temporary concrete barrier at 7 p.m. on April 2. The project phasing has been changed slightly from original designs, but will prove to benefit commuters with the major detour for the Boulevard of the Allies happening in 2008 when the new North Ramp connecting Fifth Avenue and the Boulevard of the Allies will be open for use.
